He came back to Glasgow on the 17th; he asked, was there not a letter for him ; and none having come, he stayed at home all the Wednesday expeoting the letter, bnt still none came. He went to the Bridge of Allan on Thursday the 19th, and after he had gone, the letter came. He had made arrangements that he was to stay at the Bridge of Allan for a wcek, and Mr Thuau iras to forwaid to him any letters which arrived in his absence. We have not got that letter, bnt the envelope has bcen found. It bears to have bcen posted betwcen 8.45 and 12.20 P.m. on Thursday. Gentlemen, that envelope was found in the tourist's bag. I have to remark, in reference to the observations of my learned fricnd, that that letter has never been found ; we know not what has become of it, or where it is ; bnt this is certain, that the envelope was found in the bag, and the things that were in the bag were marked at once, and there can be no doubt of the state in which they were found. I regret the absence of that letter as much as my learned fricnd, bnt I think we have internal evidence in the correspondence of what the import of that letter was. Bnt that letter came on the 19th, and Thuau, on the same day, addressed it to the Post-Office at Stirling, to the address of L'Angelicr, and it was posted at Franklin Place on the night of the 19th March, and reached Stirling on the 20th. On the 20th, L'Angelicr writes to Miss Perry from the Bridge of Allan. He says, " I should have come to sce some one last night, bnt the letter came too late."
