In the tradition of The Animals of Farthing Wood and Watership Down, this is the story of a beaver's desperate fight to save his home from destruction by humans. Forced to leave his home when his family are killed by hunters, Brunner flees across the snowy wilderness to make a new home with the beavers of Lake Napachokee. However, his safety is short-lived as developers begin to bulldoze the lake to build a holiday resort. This time, Brunner and his fellow beavers are determined to fight back. This is a thrilling adventure as the animals fight against the might of the men and machines, using all their ingenuity and cunning to save their home from destruction and the whole area from being ruined.
