Max wants to make an earthworm cake to celebrate Grandma's birthday but sister Ruby insists on making an angel surprise cake and won't let him help. Before long, disaster strikes and the eggs fall on the floor. Sent to the shop to buy some more, Max adds his own ingredients to the list. Sadly, the shop owner only sees what Ruby wants. Each time there's an accident in the kitchen, Max is sent out to buy replacements and also tries to get his own ingredients, but each time it is only Ruby's needs that are met. Banned from the kitchen, Max makes his own creation and, eventually, manages to get the prized Red-hot Marshmallow Squirters for the finishing touch.
