Closed-shaft Garderobe and Associated Medieval Structures at Jennings Yard, Windsor, Berkshire (Wessex Archaeology Reports) Book
Report on excavations in 1987 by Wessex Archaeology which revealed evidence of substantial medieval buildings in addition to prehistoric artefacts and post-medieval deposits. Remains of three separate succesive masonry buildings (one incorporating an en suite integral gardrobe, possibly the oldest in the country) spanning the period AD 1150-1600, were recorded associated with other structures and features including a possible `moat' and revetted causeway. Substantial potery, metalwork, waterlogged leather and woodwork were also recovered.Read More
