Convoy Book
In March 1943, two convoys set off from New York across the Atlantic with supplies for the UK. Out in the ocean looking for them were 44 German submarines, whose sole purpose was to prevent their arrival. Despite the best efforts of 21 escort vessels, 22 merchantment were sunk and 360 sailors, with 12 passengers, lost their lives. For this was at the height of the Battle of the Atlantic. Throughout the war small ships fought it out with the U-Boats in the North Atlantic. This book describes the climax of that hard, drawn-out struggle.Read More
