Epic and Sedition: The Case of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh (Iran's National Poem) Book

Iran's national epic, the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, has traditionally been regarded by both Persians and Westerners as a poem celebrating the central role of monarchy in Persian history.
