He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, and later in London and Berlin. He has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral plater with many groups including the Allegri Quartet and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as conducting, accompanying and coaching.
