George Hamilton IV: Ambassador of Country Music Book

George Hamilton IV is recognised all round the world for both his live and TV appearances over many years in show business. This is the story of his life - from his childhood in North Carolina to his legendary reputation as an international performer. George developed an early love of music and formed a country music band at high school, inspired by the artistes of Nashville, Tennessee. His first "hit" was recorded on his university campus radio in 1956. It climbed the national charts and sold a million singles. George toured the USA along with artistes such as Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochrane, the Everley Brothers, Chuck Berry and many others. In 1960 he was signed on with a record company and his career took off in a big way. He had many hit singles and was the first Nashville-based singer to record material by Canadian born Joni Mitchell. In 1970 he was given his own Canadian TV series, which ran for seven years and was shown in the UK, New Zealand, South Africa and Hong Kong.Read More
