Getting Started in Internet Auctions Book
If Sothebys or Christies is a bridge too far this week, you can always visit eBay, Yahoo!, QXL, Amazon or any of the other C2C (customer-to-customer) sites springing up across the Web. Elliott's book gives a simple, easy-to-read introduction to the whole area, including blow-by-blow descriptions of how to buy and sell work. The subject matter looks and sounds a little bland but Elliott has actually put some thought into buying and selling strategies, talking to people who use C2C sites to earn a living, and particularly how to avoid interacting with the dishonest and the unscrupulous. He also explains auction bargain hunting, display and pricing techniques, spotting "inferior merchandise" and how to organise the final transaction. Elliott, who according to his book has sold approximately a million pounds worth of merchandise online, even offers regular updates to the book on his own site. --Liz BaileyRead More
