In Pursuit of Quality Book

This book is about quality. Its objective is to help the reader to discover the means by which any organization, large or small, manufacturing or service, can harness the creativity and resources of all of its people to work towards making that organization the best in its particular field. This concept is referred to throughout the book as total quality. The term is not free from any restrictive nouns such as "Management", or "Total Quality Control", since total quality embraces all of these specific concepts. Total quality is the name given in this book to the concept of total involvement of executives, managers, and the managed. It also embraces the entire range of quality-related concepts such as "Just In Time" statistical process control, quality systems and procedures as outlined in publications such as British Standard 5750, International Standards organization 9000 etc.., and the fundamentally important concepts of such groups as quality circles (referred to as quality control circles in Japan) and suggestion scheme approaches. In essence, total quality is the term used to describe the way an organization operates in its markets. It also represents a social industrial revolution, which in twenty to thirty years time will be regarded as of at least equal importance to the introduction of the factory system in the mid 1700s and the advent of scientific management as defined by Fredric W.Taylor at the turn of the twentieth century.Read More
