J.D. Edwards OneWorld: The Complete Reference (J.D. Edwards Press) Book
This thick book brings the reader just over two kilos of solid information about the wide-ranging OneWorld product. Surprisingly, given the volume of material, what J.D. Edwards OneWorld: the Complete Reference won't give you is a concise overview of the benefits OneWorld might bring to your organisation; its approach is much more hands-on than that. It's aimed at those actually using the system, providing "in-depth details on all critical aspects" with implementation, maintenance and upgrading coming under close scrutiny. These in-depth details are likely to be invaluable as OneWorld seems an unwieldy animal, relying heavily on unmemorable table names, field names and commands. Help from three seasoned OneWorld users is well worth having, especially as they aren't always rigidly evangelical about the system. Though a long way from light reading, the style is clear and there are tips, notes and sections giving methods of accomplishing tasks that aren't J.D. Edwards-approved.In two parts, the first contains chapters on architectural theory and configurations, servers, tables, applications, service packs and configuration case studies. Part two covers system administration, taking in data replication, security, printing and log files along the way. Further chapters deal with troubleshooting for implementations under NT, AS/400 and Unix.Should you find yourself in a OneWorld environment, this reference could be just the ticket. Just don't expect to read it on the train/bus/tube unless you've been weight training first. --Mark WhitehornRead More
