This text aims to meet the demand for material to prepare students for A Level examination by providing practice in reading comprehension and writing skills in preparation. It also provides practice and revision of key linguistic structures for those teachers who feel that many students, having been taught by the GCSE communicative method, do not have the grammatical foundation required to achieve success at A Lmevel. In addition, a gradual introduction of grammar elements and incline of difficulty eases the transition from GCSE to A Level. Activities include reading passages, follow-up comprehension related language practice and a variety of text types.
