Lego Universe Official Game Guide (Prima's Official Strategy Guides) Book

LEGO Universe is designed to introduce younger players to MMO gaming. When you first start playing online it can be pretty daunting and that's where the LEGO Universe strategy guide comes in. It's written in a way that will help players new to online gaming get started and feel comfortable but with complete items and models stats it's incredibly helpful for more experienced players as well. ; ; ; We introduce the concept of an MMO and cover the basic terms new players need to know (pp. 6-7). Our chapter on "The Basics" explains the gameplay and covers the unique twists that LEGO Universe introduces into the MMO game style concluding with a section on the kid-friendly social aspects of the game (p.20). ; ; Unlike many other MMOs in LEGO Universe players choose a Faction that determines their character's strongest and weakest skills. Once a Faction is chosen players don't level up they upgrade their armour and gear (their "Specialty Kits") from Rank 1 up to Rank 3. Our "Factions and Kits" chapter covers the Rank 1-3 Specialty Kit stats for all four Factions. We break down the gear in a user-friendly visual format and give detailed explanations of each Faction's strengths weaknesses and sub-specializations. For example if you join The Sentinel Faction you can choose the Specialty Kit for a Knight or a Samurai (pp.32-35). We clearly explain the differences between the two and cover all the related Items and bonuses in detail. ; ; There are 19 tameable Pets scattered across the LEGO Universe worlds and we teach players where to find them and how to solve the puzzles in order to tame them in our "Pets" chapter. ; ; The Items collected have important consequences for players' characters-from how strong their armour is to how fast they are-and we cover all of them in our Items chapter. For most Items a player would just equip it for their character to receive the benefits but in LEGO Universe some have to be activated in order to work while others have to be consumed in order to take effect. Throughout the game players collect LEGO bricks and pre-assembled LEGO models that they can combine on their Property to create anything they want.
