Lethal Seduction Book
The location is New York; the heroine is Madison Castelli, femme fatale of LA Connections, who's gorgeous and clever, but at 30 is having boyfriend problems. Discovering a few deadly secrets about her parents makes things even more horrid. Fortunately the flash of rugged photographer Jake's smile, and a few other things, takes her mind off things. Meanwhile, spoilt rich-girl Rosarita is married to a daytime soap star whose name-change, from Dick Cockranger to Dex Falcon, has paid dividends. Only Rosarita wants Dex out of her life (as in concrete shoes, permanent style), to make room for a billionaire's son whose idea of lunch at his desk involves the words "Rosarita" and "mouthful", preferably with the blinds open so that the occupants of the adjacent sykscraper can gape. Then there's a lap-dancer called Varoomba with silicon implants so huge that simply standing upright is a challenge; a bad-tempered supermodel with a penchant for teenage Latino lads; and an errant husband whose mistress turns out to be a "master". There are so many colourful characters jostling for attention in Lethal Seduction that the plot takes on a distinctly "supporting role". After 30 years in the business, Jackie Collins has pulled out all the stops for this, her 19th bestseller. While the action swings from the hard-nosed world of NY to the surreal Strip of Las Vegas, Ms Collins has trawled the alphabet to make sure she has every known sexual type, deviation and plot line in place: from assholes to voyeurs, and coke-kings to mafia-men, with murder, mayhem and madams at every turn. One wonders whether this vulgarity-with-a-morality-sting tale is merely a product of the over-ripe imagination of an experienced writer or the real-life experiences of a rich woman who lives in Beverly Hills and knows everyone. Whatever, if you like the Collins style, you'll just lurrve this. --Carey GreenRead More
