A collection of three works of travel literature published together in one volume. "A Dragon Apparent" takes Norman Lewis to Indo-China during the precarious last years of the French colonial regime. Before the devastation of the Vietnam War, much of the charm and grandeur of the ancient native civilizations had survived. In "Golden Earth", Lewis travels to Burma, where he fell in love with the land and its people.
