Philippe Starck : Subverchic Design Book
Philippe Starck is arguably the most famous designer on the planet. His oeuvre is spectacularly impressive, embracing hundreds of designs--among them the three-legged aluminium lemon squeezer, the cute Miss Sissy lamps, the Café Costes chair, the horn- shaped Ara desk lamp and Excalibur toilet brush. His architectural projects have included the Royalton and Paramount hotels in New York and Mondrian in Los Angeles. Fay Sweet is a design writer whose work regularly appears in the Guardian, the Independent and the Daily Telegraph. She wrote Philippe Starck: Subverchic Design in collaboration with the designer. It is a catalogue of some of his sketches and drawings. It also contains photographs of many of his famous products, including his "Good Goods" range which include clothes, furniture and organic foods described as "Starck's gift to the planet". Much of the book is written in question-and-answer format with the answers hand-written over photographs of the designer. It's the perfect introduction to the designer and will make a perfect gift for the design- conscious.Read More
