Providing Internet Services Via the Macintosh Book
Probably the best book on turning your already wonderfully useful Macintosh into something even more remarkable: a reliable, powerful, and fully-featured Internet server. Although most other books have gone ga-ga with the Web, this book also provides great coverage on setting up many other practical but often overlooked services like mailing lists. It should be noted that the main author, Carl Steadman, is the co-producer of the notable online magazine Suck, as well as Production Editor for Wired, so he's clearly got a great deal of real-world experience in setting up high quality online services with the Mac. The CD-ROM is great too, with a "let's get serious and get things done" selection of tools, utilities, and everything you need to turn your Mac into a reliable Internet service that won't freak out over IRQ interrupts and hardware incompatabilities (like some other operating systems I've worked with).Read More
