Pupil Friendly IEPs: Individual Education Plans for Primary School Children Aged 6 to 16 (Lucky Duck Books) Book
The Code of Practice (2001) makes it clear that pupils should be involved in planning their targets from an early age. From an early age pupils with SEN should be actively involved at an appropriate level in discussions about their IEPs, including target setting and review arrangements, and have their views recorded. (para. 3.9) This publication provides a way to achieve this in a stimulating and interesting way. Using the CD-ROM you can produce full colour illustrated planning sheets, which can be printed as blanks or filled in on screen for subsequent printing. For those without access to a PC there are copiable blank sheets with line drawings which can be coloured in. Several different illustrated versions are available and the process of choosing and writing the targets allows teachers to involve pupils in the planning and review process. The book gives practical tips and guidance for writing the IEPs with examples and case histories. Gillian Shotton is an educational psychologist who has developed this programme from her own experience working with teachers and students. The Pupil Friendly IEP Template Pages on the CD-ROM are compatible with Word versions 2001 and later. They are presented as individual files for a variety of styles. You can choose from dinosaurs, fish, football and animals, in colour or as black and white line drawings (for colouring in). Full instructions for PC and Macintosh use are included in the book.Read More
