Radiology of Skeletal Disorders Book

Almost a complete re-write of earlier editions, this book deals with the disorders of the skeleton, as reflected by their radiological appearances. It contains a number of exercises that simulate the practical demands of radiological interpretation. Although aimed at the radiologist and orthopaedic surgeon, this book should be of interest to those in other fields, including internal medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, pathology and general practice. The correlation of radiological patterns with clinical and pathological features of disease may also be instructive to medical students and recently qualified physicians. This book presents a number of exercises, each containing a number of problems in diagnostic radiology. Question films, indicated by Q1, Q2, etc., have been reproduced as large as space allows, and are accompanied by brief clinical information, providing the reasons for which radiological investigation had been requested by clinical colleagues. As is the case in many instances of such requests, this information is generally limited, but has been designed to incorporate appropriate diagnostic clues. The attempt is thus made to simulate the practical demands of radiological interpretation. Each exercise demands reasoned and analytical evaluation by the reader. The diagnoses are to be found on the page which immediately follows the question page. This edition pays attention to the newer methods of imaging such as radionuclide scanning, computerized tomogrpahy and MRI, and includes specially commissioned sections in these areas.Read More
