The Biggest Lie Ever Told Book

This is the Third Printing of the book, "The Biggest Lie Ever Told". It was first published in 1992 and a "Second Edition" was published in 1993. This Edition has undergone considerable revision, in reflection of the authors "growth" over the last 10 years. This was the first book that I wrote on the subject of mythology/religion. Recently I have received an upsurge in orders for the book. I know not why, but I assume the reason relates to interest in my current series of books titled "The Astrological Foundation Of The Christ Myth. Consequently this renewed interest in a book that I wrote 10 years ago has prompted me to update the book, so that it more closely reflects my present attitudes. I feel that the book is a good primer for those entering into the arena of secular theological research. I am grateful that a significant amount of Readers seem to agree with my assessment. In reference to the Precessional cycles of 25,920 years and the recurring Glacial Epochs ? subjects which were touched upon in Editions 1 and 2 but not as much in this edition. The Astrological evidence is intriguing; that the intervals between Glacial Epochs had been calculated by the Ancients. The descent of the glaciers from the Polar Regions is a phenomenon that occurs at regular defined intervals is the indication. Of course when this occurs, the impact upon the inhabitants of this planet is devastating. If this premise is correct, it adds further understanding to the importance of correct Time tracking, as it relates to the Great Year and to the Astrological cycles. Today, in this Inter-Glacial era, glaciers cover over 10% of the earth's land surface. The scientist (geologists) tell us that there are mountains of ice lodged in the Arctic Regions, so much so that if it were free to roam, it would encase our entire planet in a sheet of ice 100 to 200 ft. thick. About 15,000 years ago, the earth was in the last stages of the Ice Age; and over 30% of our planets land surface was encased in Ice. Glaciers, over a mile high in places! All of Ireland was covered, 90% of England; all of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, vast portions of Russia, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of France were covered by one contiguous solid sheet of ice, thousands of feet thick in places. In North America, one solid sheet of ice covered the entire area from the Polar region as far south as Ohio and Missouri. And, from these immense sheets of ice, covering Europe, Asia and the Americas, huge glaciers broke off, and descended even further south as far as 30 degrees North Latitude. The effect of the Ice Age on our planet was incalculable, only estimable. It changed the actual contour of our earth; its geography, the earth's crust. Rivers, seas, the oceans, all were changed immeasurably by the effects of the Ice age. The climate was altered, precipitation ratios were changed, valleys were carved through mountains, deserts became lakes, and rivers became seas. The Boundaries of the Continents were altered! Sea level fluctuated by hundreds of feet. The paragraphs above are a description of our planet during the Ice Age. Our planet is very different today, because we now are living in an Inter-Glacial period, after the Ice Age, after the retreat of the huge masses of ice back to the Polar Regions. Some believe that the Sun in its orbit around its Central Star (speculated as the star Sirius) passes through a hostile region of space that adversely affects the normalcy of our climate. Others believe that the shifting of the points of the Perihelion and Aphelion that cycles at intervals of 21,000 years is a contributor to significant changes in our climate at predictable intervals over thousands of years. Still, others believe that the gradual shifting or sudden shifting of the earth's axis is the culprit or that the eccentricity of the earths orbit is not constant, but subject to significant variations. To date, I have not come across Sufficient ancient allegory that Definitively supports either scenario. But the fact remains that even though humans have occupied this planet for untold millions of years, our view of history becomes very murky at about 10,000 years. Could it be that this Garden of Eden is periodically transformed into Valley of Death. Is our environment subject to such horrific and devastating variations, so much so that its effect is the periodic destruction of human civilization, and in consequence of this the Arresting and Restarting of civilization is an eternal recurring process.
