The Logic of Evangelism Book

This is an addition to the theory and practice of evangelism, claiming that initiation into the Christian Church is only the start of a life-long process of evangelism. In contrast to the traditional focus on proclamation and the more recent emphasis on Church growth, Abraham argues that evangelism must be construed as primary initiation into the Kingdom of God. Fleshing out his case by discussing how conversion, baptism, morality, the Creed, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the classical spiritual disciplines are related to initiation into the Kingdom, Abraham examines the implications of his theory for the practice of evangelism. The author maintains that the much needed critical discussion about evangelism schemes, but rather by bringing to bear on the topic relevant material from a number of appropriate disciplines. The author is an ordained minister in the Methodist Church, Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Perkins School of Theology at the Southern Methodist University, and American Associate Director of the C.S.Lewis Centre.Read More
