The New Tradition Book

Since the mid 1990s new approaches have been developed in architecture, urbanism and landscape architecture in which continuity and the idea of building on tradition stand central. The way in which these approaches relate to context, tradition and history is unmistakably contemporary even though the results strongly remind us of something that was previously built. This publication examines the scale and significance from both a historical and contemporary perspective of contemporary traditionalism. Assembled and written by Vincent van Rossum and Hans Ibelings, this book presents the work of well and lesser known architects including: Sjoerd Soeters, Krier & Kohl, Mulleners & Mulleners, Scala and Pim Hienkens.
