Tiger!: The Tiger Tank in the Eastern Front, in Normandy and in Germany 1942-45 Book

The Tiger tank was the greatest tank of World War II. Officially designated the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausfuhrung H, it was nicknamed the Tiger by Ferdinand Porsche. Brought into use in late 1942, the Tiger tank represented a new approach to tank design in that it maximised armour protection and firepower at the expense of mobility. This is the first publication dedicated solely to the Tiger tanks of the Schwere Panzer Kompanie (Heavy Armor Company) of the SS-Panzerregiment 2 "DR" from 1943 to 1945. In 1944, the company became part of the II SS Panzercorps, die schere SS-Panzer-Abteillung 102, and this book continues to examine their history through to the end of the war.Containing 15 years of research, along with eyewitness accounts, photographs from veterans, and organization charts, this book is an exceptional addition to any German armor enthusiast's collection.Read More
