Virtual Medicine Book

"Virtual Medicine" is a term used to describe the methods of treating or avoiding an illness, disease or condition which would be considered as outside the realms of regular Western medicine. In his book under the same title, Dr Keith Scott-Mumby sets out to challenge the assumption that modern medicine as developed by a scientific approach is the only way, or at least the only reputable and reliable way, to cure and treat patients. He brings together methods used throughout the world and discusses the thinking and beliefs behind their healing or preventative powers. Some of these methods are age-old, dating back many centuries, while others are more modern. But all of them, he thinks, have something to offer humanity. In a book which encompasses past, present and future under the loose term "medicine", the author even looks ahead to new technological developments that he believes will make up some part of a better-rounded approach to medicine in years to come. He believes a new attitude to more traditional treatments is emerging in the medical world, whereas once they were shunned or dismissed as mere "mumbo-jumbo".Proof that these methods can work have and are changing beliefs fathered in the technological age since the industrial revolution, and Scott-Mumby repeatedly refers to actual case studies to better illustrate his writings.
