"(Un)like Subjects" aims to present a significant new model for the relationship between women and writing; and theory and fiction. Gerardine Meaney addresses the issues of style and female relationships which have preoccupied the three most influential French feminist theorists and three contemporary women novelists. Meaney traces the connections between the theorists, Helene Cixous, Luce Irigaray and Julia Kristeva, and the literary practitioners, Doris Lessing, Muriel Spark and Angela Carter.
